The Viver Santarém is a publicly-owned municipal company dedicated to promoting sport and sporting activity as an essential pillar for promoting health and active, healthy lifestyles and strengthening the link between the management of sports facilities and the community that benefits from them.

Viver Santarém's priority objective is to bringing sport to a growing number of people of all ages, covering all parishes and all parts of the municipality. With Viver Santarém, no one is left behind, no one is forgotten.

From the youngest to the oldest, all those who want to improve their quality of life through sports will find in Viver Santarém and its various programs, a space for their needs, their possibilities and their desires.

In Santarém, not practicing sport is no longer an option, but a choice.

The Statutory Auditor - Rosa Lopes, Gonçalves Mendes e Associados, SROC, Lda., represented by José Gonçalves Mendes, is paid the monthly amount of €750, plus VAT at the normal rate.

STAFF

On December 31, 2023, the company had 84 employees, 44 men and 40 women, 52.4% and 47.6% respectively, distributed by legal employment relationship, age group and education level.

In addition to the workers on the company's staff, there are 10 part-time operational assistants with fixed-term contracts working for the Municipality of Santarém.

Viver Santarém

Viver Santarém's corporate purpose is to provide a public service in the field of physical activity and sport, leisure and free time and other entertainment activities in the municipality, namely those determined by the municipality to be carried out in the spaces and equipment under its management.

Within the scope of public service provision, Viver Santarém's objectives are:

  • Ensuring the programming and general management of the spaces and equipment assigned to it at any given time;
  • Ensuring the programming, production and supervision of physical and sporting activities of municipal initiative that fall within the scope of the options for encouraging and supporting sporting practice defined by the City Council;
  • Participate in co-productions or collaborations with other entities, public or private, that fall within its corporate purpose;
  • Ensuring the production and supervision of leisure and entertainment activities of municipal initiative that fall within the scope of the sporting options defined by the City Council;
  • Ensuring the management, operation and maintenance of the spaces and equipment assigned to it at any given time.

Within the scope of its activities listed above, Viver Santarém is responsible for the following:

  • Promote and boost the practice of different physical and sporting activities, including adapted sport, with a special focus on training sport and gender equality, always giving priority to the social responsibility of institutions;
  • Contribute to the sporting development of the municipality;
  • Optimize the management of the municipality's sports infrastructures, in terms of operation and maintenance, as well as maximizing the use of the various facilities;
  • To help educate the public, particularly young people, in the areas of awareness and dissemination of sport, physical activity and leisure;
  • Encouraging sporting and cultural exchanges at national and international level;
  • Organize and support prestigious sporting, cultural and leisure activities.

Uma previsão orçamental fundamentada não poderá ser proposta sem uma verificação prévia do que foi a execução do orçamento do ano anterior. Porque há uma linha de continuidade que é preciso reforçar e porque a capacidade demonstrada de implementar e executar um orçamento está, também, condicionada às experiências e resultados dos que o antecederam. Nesta nota introdutória não seria carreto apresentar o orçamento de 2024 sem percebermos como chegámos até aqui. Chegámos, cumprindo o que estava previsto no orçamento anterior e, em alguns casos, como é exemplo os custos da energia ou da capacidade de gerar investimentos, superando as nossas expetativas iniciais.

Safety, Hygiene and Health at Work

Viver Santarém EM SA, a company dedicated to the management of facilities and equipment for Physical Activities and Leisure, considers health and safety at work to be a priority objective that must be present in all its processes. As such, Viver Santarém EM SA undertakes through this policy to:

  • Anticipating and preventing health and safety risks at work, with a view to eliminating the danger or, when this is unfeasible, reducing the risks;

  • Providing safe and healthy working conditions in order to prevent injuries and health problems at work, as well as information that equips employees and service providers with the appropriate knowledge to carry out their activities;

  • Ensuring that all employees and service providers, as well as clients, are responsible for ensuring that their own work is carried out within the required parameters, complying with and enforcing legal requirements and safety standards in order to eliminate or minimize risks to themselves and third parties;

  • Promote worker participation and consultation;

  • Ensuring workers' health is monitored;

  • Ensure a continuous supply of personal protective clothing and equipment;

  • Establishing and periodically reviewing objectives and measures aimed at preventing accidents at work and occupational illnesses and promoting the health of employees, service providers, clients and other stakeholders in the organization;

  • Ensuring compliance with the applicable legal requirements and any others subscribed to in terms of health and safety at work;

  • Developing and maintaining an occupational health and safety management system based on the concept of continuous improvement.

  • The occupational safety and health management system aims to improve performance and achieve the occupational safety and health objectives set by the organization.
