Viver Santarém present at the National Youth Championship

Viver Santarém was present at the National Youth Championship, which took place on March 20, 21 and 22, 2026, at the Olympic swimming pools in Coimbra.

The competition featured 457 swimmers — 237 male and 220 female — representing 95 clubs from across the country, distributed across five sessions held twice a day.

The Viver Santarém team was represented by two athletes from the Junior B category, Benedita Lagarinhos and Francisco Dias, accompanied by their coach, Renato Rodrigues.

In the women's event, Benedita Lagarinhos achieved 15th place in the 100-meter butterfly, 16th place in the 50-meter butterfly, 22nd place in the 50-meter backstroke (with a personal best), and 67th place in the 50-meter freestyle (also with a personal best).

Francisco Dias, in the men's category, achieved 24th place in the 100-meter backstroke and 20th place in the 200-meter backstroke, achieving a personal best in both events.

Participation in this national championship represents another important step in the athletes' competitive journey, highlighting the work developed and their progressive evolution in a high-level competitive environment.
